Post 26 Commander, George Stopper, presents a check for $2,500 to Sauk County Veterans Service Officer, Tony Tyczynksi, for the Veterans Care Trust Fund. The Sauk County Veterans Commission uses the funds to provide financial assistance to Sauk County veterans in need. Each year, Post 26 donates 100% of the tips we receive from the County Fair's Beer Booth to this important veteran’s resource.

Vietnam veterans recognized at Baraboo High School this Spring during a ceremony to celebrate their service to our country.

Members from Post 26 pose for a quick photo before hitting the road to volunteer for a day of fun, food, & fellowship with residents at the Tomah VA Hospital on February 12, 2017.

2016-2017 Commander, Steve Rundio, poses with Post 26 $1,000 scholarship winner, Ryan Lane, at our June 2016 meeting. Congratulations Ryan!!!

On March 15, 2016 members of Post 26 presented a check for $10,000 to BHS history teacher, Steve Argo, and his "Baraboo 21" student club. This student club and Mr. Argo are working with the Sauk County Historical Society to raise money to build a memorial on the Baraboo Riverwalk to celebrate the 21 men from Baraboo that were aboard the Tuscania when it was sunk by a torpedo from a German U-Boat in February of 1918 during WWI.

The "Baraboo 21" are working with the City of Baraboo and other entities to have the memorial constructed and dedicated on November 11, 2018, which is the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI.

On March 14th, 2016, Leon Braun celebrated 70 years of continuous membership in the American Legion. All 70 years are with Post 26. What an awesome accomplishment.

Julie Lane (Left) helps Post 26 collect flags from Walnut Hill Cemetery. Flags are collected from the gravesites each Fall and then properly retired. Each Spring Post 26 places new flags on the gravemarkers of veterans from the Baraboo community.
